WMG Gala Event 2010
We are pleased to announce this year’s Annual Gala on Friday, April 30 at Salvage One, a fabulous venue not far from Woman Made Gallery, at 1840 W. Hubbard with plenty of street parking around. There will be live and silent auctions, an all cash raffle, delicious appetizers provided by our favorite catering company, Amazing Edibles, an assortment of gourmet cheeses donated by Cabot Cheese, a wine bar, musical entertainment, and live artmaking. Event planning has been graciously donated by Shannon Downey and her company, Pivotal Production.
Thanks to the generosity of many talented and generous artists the auction will offer a variety of original works. These currently include photography and digital art by Jill Flyer and Catherine Blackwell Pena, paintings by Pamela Callahan, Ruth Eckstein, Aida Emart, and Kim Rogers, drawing and printmaking by Anna Gratovich and Sarah Hauser, mixed media works by Priti Gulati Cox and Deb Flagel, sculpture by Ruth Aizuss Migdal, ceramics by Sarah Gable and Maria Testaguzzi, and jewelry by Peggy Skemp, and more donations are coming in daily. In addition, the auction will include unique gift items, including a Party for 40 at WMG, a Thai & Chai Party for Five offered by registered Thai Yoga Therapist, Monica J. Brown, and gift certificates for a variety of businesses and services.
There will be live artmaking by talented cartoon artist Keith Taylor, and the creation of a large painting with acrylic on canvas in collaboration with willing guests.
Images of some of the donated artworks can be viewed HERE. Images of new items will be added continuously as they are donated, so please check this page frequently.
In addition to exciting live and silent auction items, we'll have an all cash raffle where the three prizes depend on how large the pot is. We expect a minimum of $750 for the first prize; a minimum of $450 for the second prize, and approximately $250 for the third prize. Raffle tickets are $5 each or six for $25. Please click HERE to print out a sheet of raffle tickets. Purchase one ticket or as many as you wish and mail with the correct amount to Woman Made Gallery, 685 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago, IL 60642. You need not be present to win. Tickets must be received by April 29. The drawing will be at the Gala Event on April 30, 2010.
