For me, painting is a pilgrimage to the far horizon of deep silence, to the edge of remembering what we have forgotten. From this place, I can explore our increasingly lost connection to the primal, unfiltered world. I want to identify and amplify those brief moments when consciousnss opens to perceive more than we can understand rationally. I believe strongly in the value of working with our hands as a way of getting beyond surface thoughts and making a deeper connection between our intentions and actions. I studied art at the Madison Area Technical College, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Grand Marais Art Colony. My work has been shown in galleries in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Japan. |
