Cat Del Buono is a New York based artist. A recurring theme in her projects is challenging social and identity issues, such as nationality, gender, and stereotyping. Some recent works center on examining women and how they are affected by societal pressures. Cat has used performance, interactive video, and humor to show the struggle to obtain a certain definition of beauty in a society obsessed with physical perfection. These projects aim to incite viewers to examine the cultural constraints put upon their self-image and to question conformity and unnecessary surgery, implants, and augmentation. |
