As an Indiana artist transplanted from Chicago, I am acutely attuned to the peculiarities and uniqueness of this region’s landscape. My home in Chesterton is situated half way between Chicago and Southwest Michigan. These areas have presented me with a new vocabulary of forms, both industrial and natural. Power lines that come in an assortment of configurations remind me of stoic totem poles, carnival rides and human personalities. These structures rise up from the landscape next to sand dunes, Blue Heron and Lake Michigan. |
