During my years as a social worker, I worked with pregnant teenagers, families seeking services at their local community center, and individuals incarcerated in the Cook County Jail. I've marched for civil rights and against more than one war. I've benefited from the Women’s Movement, and am still waiting for political reform that raises education to a top priority in all communities. These experiences have shaped my photographic practice. I am particularly interested in giving voice and image to those not often heard from. My work focuses on the strength of women and the thoughtful, quirky ideas of teens. My intention is to widen our visual perspective and broaden the number of people included in our cultural conversations. |
