My art is an attempt to reflect and aspire, rooted in the paradox that as humans we are infinite-striving spirits housed in finite bodies, leaving us grounded, yet reaching. Significant influence on my work comes from Studs Terkel, Keith Haring, Lynda Barry, John Callahan, Alison Bechdel, Roz Chast, Jean-Jacques Sempe, the uninhibited perspective of children, and the many friends I met while working as a nurse. |
