Without any formal art training, I create each art piece using charcoal media. Color means everything to me, and I often use strong color combinations, and at other times I utilize a smooth blending technique to create my works of art.

Due to my parent’s initial disapproval as a child, opportunities presented to me to work in the visual arts were denied because my parents did not fully understand the impact to the art world. Therefore now as an adult, I am finally embracing the skills that so desperately could no longer be suppressed because my artwork is a form of self-expression to exhibit freedom of mind. In addition, it is also a beloved hobby!

In July 2008, I was selected to host my own exhibition at the Cool Space Art Gallery in downtown Shreveport, LA showcasing approximately 16 of my abstract artworks from July to August. I have also been selected for a second exhibition opportunity at Cool Space. Meanwhile, after learning about Woman Made Gallery per an instructor my niece met at the Illinois Institute of Art, I would like to also present art for this gallery as well upon availability in the selection process.
