My works are centred on historical iconographic elements within the cultural context of Indian history. I explore the hermeneutics of period histories and construct its contemporary interpretation of socioeconomic and political inquiry within my art practice.The techniques and histories of traditional Indian textiles (printing, weaving, and embroidery of diverse ethnic communities) continues to inspire me. Along with narratives from literary texts, I investigate the trajectory of period textile and its influences on my contemporary world. Textiles created for visual medium performs a great sense of documentation of skill and its conservation. |
