As soon as I found out that Nicole Hollander had something to do with this show, I had to try and enter it. I have been enjoying her cartoons in The Funny Times for more years than she would want me to count. Her work has been very influential to me. Nicole's jaundiced but happy people are part of my imaginary audience. I think to myself "Would they like this one?"

When I was a kid, I thought cartoon characters were real. When I watched ‘Cinderella’ or ‘Snow White,’ I was perplexed by why they didn't seem to eat, sleep, or go to the bathroom at regular intervals. As a supposed adult, I'm sure I unconsciously cling to that notion. It's an easy thing to indulge in with Nicole's work. I am honored to be in her company.
