I have always noticed things others did not. These digital photographs are not manipulated; the viewer sees exactly what I saw. Of the thousands of images I take, successful pictures precisely express what caught my eye: unexpected beauty or a particular slant of light or pattern of shadow or reflection. Maybe the thrill of standing out in a spring windstorm or the challenge of catching moonlight in the dead of winter. I want to convey how it feels to be standing in my shoes as the witness. Nature is a frequent inspiration, every season with its unique richness. I think of my photographs as visual poems, evoking feelings, perhaps imparting fresh insight, setting the stage for a story invented by the viewer. I am in awe of the healing power of these images, to transform to a more positive and optimistic way of being.
