I begin my work by exploring materials while tapping into my emotions, state of mind, and physical surroundings. Thinned paint is poured onto unstretched /unprimed canvas freely. I carefully hold the sides of the unstretched canvas, and let the paint randomly stain areas of the canvas. Once the canvas dries, I cut the canvas and begin to reconfigure the arrangement, and leave out sections creating a hole or gap and/or adding an entirely different piece of canvas to the piece. The method I use to reconstruct the work involves using a sewing machine. Threads and/or random pencil marks become an important part of the work. Personal experiences and random materials and techniques are utilized to create my art pieces.
