I am interested in depicting the human figure, as imagined in my mind, in settings with possibilities. Distortions occur. Space is both confining and liberating, stimulating the question �what is beyond what I see?� The influence of Renaissance sketches is seen in the layers of colored marks which highlight figures who peer out as if asking for explanations. Items float around the figures, binding as well as separating them in space. The viewer is encouraged to come up close to examine the details�eye to eye and nose to nose.
