This piece is part of a series entitled "Filter": a location is selected and for 30-45 minutes I absorb visual and aural imagery, taking sketch 'notes'. After 5-7 days using the notes taken at the scene I "re-interpret" the information garnered. Allowing myself substantial leeway in the interpretation and presentation, visual and sound bites gathered are reproduced in my own fashion. Aside from its reading from a visual/gestural/material art historical context, the work touches on the manner in which we process information and its degreed removal from the original source ending, often, in a substantive reconfiguration of meaning.
